Dr. Prem Nichani has been in the eye care business long before he can remember himself as his maternal relatives have been dispensing optical products before he was even born. Since Myra, his mother and the founder of i2i Opticians, set up shop in 1999, Prem has been tagging along to learn how to run a successful patients-centric establishment. On most Saturday afternoons during elementary and high school, Prem assisted clients with choosing frames and/or contact lenses whilst performing auto-refraction/keratometry to ensure that accurate, comprehensive, pre-examination visual assessment data was available for the optometrist who would see the patient later in the day. While it may have been difficult to be at work when Prem’s friends were out and about being children, he grew an appreciation for eye care after witnessing the immense impact his mother had on her patients as she provided them with the opportunity to see and remain independent. Prem hopes to continue on Myra’s legacy of providing the best eye care experience possible for his future patients.
If Prem is not examining your eyes, he is probably working on ways to increase i2i Opticians’ online presence via this website and social media to increase your access to what i2i has to offer! Outside of medicine, you can find Prem spending time with his family, going on hikes, reading books, mixing and producing music.
